Always assume they are live and dangerous. Report downed lines immediately to 888-544-4877. For Atlantic City Electric Customers: Customers are asked to report any outages and to stay away from any downed wires. To report outages and/or downed wires, call 1-800-833-7476, follow the prompts, and ask for a call back to confirm that power has been restored. And, the mobile app is available at atlanticcityelectric.com/mobileapp. Officials Urge Use of Prescription Drug Dropoff Boxes OCEAN COUNTY officials are urging residents to safely dispose of unused and expired prescription medications at drop-off boxes located throughout the County. Click here to read information on how to protect yourself from scam artists Emergency Lines for Emergency Calls Only The Ocean County Sheriff's Department asks that residents do not call 9-1-1 or the Office of Emergency Management unless it is an actual emergency. Information on evacuations, shelters and other storm-related activities is available on the county and local municipal websites or by calling non-emergency numbers. Silver Alert System Ocean County wants the public to be aware of the state's Silver Alert System which could serve as a lifeline in cases of missing persons who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairment. To report unattractive weeds and grass too tall that might be causing site distance problems along state Highways in Ocean County including Routes 37, 35, 72 and 70, call the state Department of Transportation dispatch number at 609-588-6212. The call is taped and logged into a state data base.
